Quick Review : The Kerala story is a tale of 4 female nursing students who were brainwashed by some false ideologies to make religious conversions and transported to Syria to use them as sex slaves for the terrorist organization ISIS (Islamic State of Syria and Iraq). Adah Sharma as Shalini delivered an exceptional performance in emotional and some disturbing scenes too. Her presence onscreen is the biggest asset to the film.
Yogita Bihani as Nimah, Sonia Balani as Asifa, and Siddhi Idnani as Geetanjali did justice to their roles. The director (Sudipto Sen) establishes the conflict in the opening shot and unfolds many other layers while proceeding deep into the film. Director succeeded in delivering a hard-hitting social drama but the movie could have been more exciting if he could have established the drama between friends in a realistic way also as the movie's main plot is related to Islam conversions but the movie fails to show why people are tending to covert their religion and how they were being brainwashed. Overall The Kerala Story is a hard-hitting social drama that you can give a try.
