The wounds of my words : Why are mothers always taken for granted?

Something went wrong in school, A 6-year-old boy came home crying and explained every detail to his mother. His mother comforted him. She was there to wipe his tears off and pour strength into him.

The boy turned 13 and entered his teenage. Someone bullied him in school, He came home. this time he isn’t crying but he is angry. His mother could sense that something went wrong. She asked multiple times and then he opened up again she was there to console him.

A mother is always a cheer leader for her child

He turned 19, A girl broke his heart. He was in pain. When his mother asked what was bothering him, This time he didn’t confront instead he yelled at her by saying these words” I can take care of myself, I am not a kid mom, Now just leave me alone for god sake”.His mother understood that her son was because of something and that he would come back to her after some time. She was there to understand him.

Later, This situation occurred frequently at home, Whenever something happens at college, or the workplace, He started mocking his mom and blaming her as the reason for everything that was going wrong. She now understood how grownup his little son was and soon after She left him, She left this world. Now, She wasn’t there to understand him, pacify him and comfort him. She wasn’t there.

Now he understood how the earth feels like hell without the presence of a mother. He couldn’t do anything but regrets his whole life for mistreating his mother.

Not only he, every one of us does the same thing. We show our anger and frustration on the sweetest person we have on this earth. Why? Why are mothers always taken for granted? Because she’s tolerating us. Once she reaches the threshold and stops tolerating us, we’ll get to know what the hell feels like. Let’s not do the same mistake and let’s celebrate their presence when they are with us.

Yesterday I have read this beautiful book written by Renuka Gavrani. It moved my heart and that is the reason I wrote this article. This story is not the story in her book but it is similar to the concept. Renuka pulled down very well that my eyes were wet and my heart was full of emotion. I strongly recommend every one of my readers to grab a copy of The wounds of my words as soon as possible.
