Location: Paramount College of Mass Communication, Bengaluru
Introducing Vikram, who was the most talented and charming guy in the entire college and he was madly in love with Prerna, the prettiest of all. Everyone was happy watching them together, stating that “the most lovable pair” on campus. Vikram was planning for his Masters abroad and Prerna got busy with her research on public issues.
They graduated from college and started building their careers. Vikram moved to the U.S.A and Prerna settled in India with an averagely paid job. They decided to get married after Vikram completes his Post graduation and returns to India. Both parents are also happy with their marriage.
Everything was going well, except for the fact that Vikram and Prerna are many miles apart from each other. Vikram’s computer couldn't stop beeping, It was filled with emails from Prerna. They both continued to be happy enjoying the distance even.
One day the computer stopped beeping, the phone stopped ringing, and there was no single clue about what happened to Prerna. Vikram was so mad at her. He tried to contact her in many ways but all his attempts were futile. After 6 months he came back to India and visited her house. He yelled at everyone because of not answering him, While talking he accidentally stared at a wall and was shocked to see his Prerna’s photo hanging with a garland.
Vikram collapsed right there and asked her parents about what happened to Prerna. They told him that she met with an accident six months ago and died because of a brain injury. Vikram cried hugging her photo until all his tears dropped. His heart was droughted and his eyes were drained. Vikram had lost all hope in life. he dropped his plans of returning to the U.S. again. he was devastated, and felt like his whole world had fallen apart. He couldn’t imagine finding happiness again.
Two years later…
One day, Vikram was walking through the park when he saw a woman sitting on a bench. She was pregnant, and she looked very sad. Vikram felt drawn to her, and he went over to talk to her.
The woman’s name was Satya, and she was fighting a terminal illness. She had been told that she didn’t have much time left to live, and she was struggling to come to terms with it. She left her home to marry her lover, but he deceived her. She attempted suicide but then she realized that she was conceived. She stood strong to live for her baby. God had been so disgraceful to her, she had cancer and didn’t have much time left to live, when she got to know this, she went back to her parents to care of her baby after her, but they denied. She said that she was worried about her baby.
As Vikram spoke to Satya, he realized that his problems were little compared to hers. He was still alive and had a chance to find the purpose of his life, but Satya’s time was running out. He started to spend more time with her, helping her take care of her baby and making her smile.
Slowly but surely, Vikram began to find hope again. He saw the strength and resilience in Satya, and he realized that life was full of possibilities. He started to open himself up to new experiences. Vikram and Satya became very close friends. He took care of her until the baby was born. Unfortunately, Satya died right after the baby was born. she held Vikram’s hand firmly, looked into his eyes, smiled, and left the world. Tears rolled down from Vikram’s eyes after a long time.
The nurse handed over the baby to Vikram and asked “What do you name her sir?”
Vikram smiled looking at her and said “Prerna”.
