Review: Naresh who is famous for his comedy roles teamed up again with Viajay Kanakamedala for Ugram after the success of Naandi and delivered an intense action cop-drama. The story starts interestingly but the love story and songs seem uninteresting. The movie picks up its pace during the later portions of the first half. The investigation portions are decent and the first half ends with a decent twist. The second half of the film is filled with action episodes where Naresh peaked his performance but his dialogue delivery in some scenes is feeble and his expressions seemed to be monotonous throughout the film. Mirnaa’s role is okay but her screen presence is limited. Sri Charan Pakala spoke with his background music in the latter parts of the film. The cinematography by Siddharth J is good he showed his technicality in a few scenes mainly the action episodes and Editing by Chota K Prasad could have been more crisp. Finally, the Director of the film Vijay Kanakamedala tried his best to pull a different characterization from Naresh and succeed in parts as the story flattened during the later portions and ended as a regular commercial film. Overall Ugram is a decent commercial thriller with tightly-packed action episodes which you can give a try this weekend.
